Hey neighbour,
The Little Food Market is at Carriageworks this weekend with 180 independent Australian producers. Running alongside it is the Festival of Dangerous Ideas; playing host to panels and debates, challenging views and exploring ethical dilemmas.
There’s also Blooms After Dark in St Peters, the Cat & Dog Lovers Festival out at Sydney Olympic Park, and Auburn's Cherry Blossom Festival, which opens this weekend.
Everything else is below, including: live music, eats and drinks, kids' picks, and this weekend's transport disruptions.
Enjoy,
Seb
180+ ARTISAN PRODUCERS AT LITTLE FOOD MARKET

One hundred and eighty independent Australian producers are making their way down to Carriageworks this weekend. The Little Food Market will be running all weekend with small-batch distillers, boutique winemakers, artisan bakers and specialty growers taking over the space.
The main stage will be running live cooking demonstrations and masterclasses across all three days, which is a good reason to stick around for the full day.
Whether you’re hunting for rare pantry staples or just looking for a solid day of grazing, it’s easily one of the best food markets on the Sydney calendar this winter.

FESTIVAL OF DANGEROUS IDEAS RETURNS

The Festival of Dangerous Ideas has been running at Carriageworks since Wednesday and runs through to Sunday 30 August, taking over Carriageworks for ten days of intense debate, provocations, and unfiltered discussions. The festival gathers international philosophers, writers, activists, and cultural commentators to tackle the most uncomfortable and urgent questions facing society today.
Rather than offering comfortable consensus, sessions are curated to challenge orthodoxies, explore high-stakes ethical dilemmas, and examine where contemporary culture is heading.
Some sessions book out quickly, and with ten days of programming there's enough to build an itinerary around what interests you.
