Hey neighbour,
It's a wet one, but there's enough happening indoors this weekend to keep you busy. Hollywood Quarter in Surry Hills turns into a free street food festival on Saturday afternoon for Vivid, the Polish Club in Ashfield has retro dancing until late, and Monthly Mending is back at RePlace in Summer Hill if you've got a pile of clothing that needs attention.
A quick PSA: if you were planning to make your way down to Summer Hill night markets this evening, it has unfortunately been cancelled due to bad weather.
Enjoy,
Seb
FEATURED STORY
LIVE MUSIC COMES TO THE EIGHTH WONDER

Leichhardt Oval is heading into a $40 million renovation, and in anticipation of this, Inner West Council has announced One Last Roar, a free live music concert at the ground in September. There’ll be major Australian acts playing on the field for the first time in the venue's history, and for Tigers fans, it’ll be their first chance to actually walk on the turf they've watched countless games on.
Mayor Darcy Byrne had been pushing for this since late 2024, when he first proposed trialling the Oval as a live music venue ahead of the rebuild.
The renovation design will ensure that music and live performance have a permanent place in what Leichhardt Oval becomes next. Acts and the date are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye on the IWC website.

BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
WHERE ASIAN FLAVOURS MEET PASTRY

Pantry Story
Mutiara Sucipto began baking pastries from home during the pandemic, building a following on Instagram alongside her partner and fellow baker Hari Wibowo. After finding a space on Parramatta Road in Stanmore, they became an instant success with scores of patient foodies lining up to try out their creative pastry-making.
Inside, you’ll find cathedral ceilings with off-white beams, and a large circular display table in the middle of the room where the day's pastries are laid out for you to work around before you order.
Their menu draws on Sucipto's Chinese-Indonesian heritage and changes regularly, but the signatures worth knowing are: the brochi, a brownie-mochi hybrid that earns every bit of its reputation, a beef rendang & potato hand pie, kimchi and cheese focaccia, and the pandan buns. They also use Stitch coffee beans, so you’re guaranteed a good brew.
